There is even the science about the magical essence of numbers and their possibilities to influence the world. It is called numerology. Nowadays this is one of the most developed spheres of magic studying.

Pifagor is the father of numerology who was the first to recognise the importance of numerals. He developed philosophy according to which the whole world was built on numerals.

According to numerologists every number corresponds to the planet. In fact numerology was always connected with astrology. Since Pifagor times these numbers and planets that correspond to people can tell a lot about their personalities.

Numerological essence

Numerology is also often called the magic of numerals and it came to us from ancient times. Nowadays it is impossible to tell exactly where this science was born however it is known that there were the numerological systems in the ancient Egypt and Babylon. It was especially important in cabbala.

Although this science became popular not long time ago it is very ancient science. In the certain sense all numerals make the unique language that was understood and used by many prehistoric tribes communication with each other using the language of numerals. And some ancient alphabets wrote the numerals with the help of letters. And nowadays this tradition is also very used in many linguistic traditions using the letter numeration instead of the numeral one.

Of course there was no separate science that investigated numerals in ancient countries. At that time the philosopher and the mathematician could easily understand each other and couldn't imagine their sciences separated by some limits. That is why the same scientists were studying the numerals from both philosophical and mathematical points of view.

Plato, Aristotle demanded the perfect knowledge of mathematics from their pupils and the majority of ancient mathematicians knew philosophy very well at that time.

Gematria is the numerology of cabbala the followers of which expanded the Pifagor conception using the numbers in the magic squares with different aims. But modern numerology prefers using the simple alphabet code created by Pifagor.
